Jeddah: To the delight of Malayali expatriates in Saudi Arabia, Akasa Air has launched flight services from Kochi to Jeddah and back. The first direct flight departed on June 29, and the next flight is scheduled for July 6. There will be four weekly services in this sector starting from July 13.

Not only for expatriates, the weekly services of Akasa Air will be helpful for hundreds of travellers who visit both countries for business, tourism and pilgrimage purposes. The new service from Kochi to Jeddah is part of the airline’s attempt to extend its operations in the Middle East. Akasa Air has also been operating flights to Abu Dhabi and Doha in the Gulf sector.

Flight schedule
Flights are scheduled on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. There will be two services on Saturdays and Sundays. A Boeing 737 aircraft with 186 economy class seats will be operating on this route. The flight departs from Kochi on Saturdays and Mondays at 6.10 am and lands in Jeddah at 9.55 pm. The return flight is at 6.45 am the next day. Meanwhile, on Sundays, the flight takes off from Kochi at 3 am and reaches Jeddah at 7.45 am. The next flight from Kochi is at 8.30 pm and lands in Jeddah at 10.10 am.
