Planning a Guruvayoor trip? New affordable stays open for pilgrims

Five safe and affordable accommodation centres have been opened for pilgrims arriving at Thrissur’s temple city, Guruvayoor. Captain Lakshmi She Stay Home, Amenity Centre, Facilitation Centre, Dewaswom Dormitory and Dewaswom Panchajanyam Annexe are all set to welcome visitors. Meanwhile, the Kudumbasree Mission would be managing the She Stay Home, Amenity Centre, Facilitation Centre and the Dewaswom Dormitory.

Rent details at each spot
1) Dewaswom Panchajnanyam Annexe: It is run directly by the Dewaswom. It has non-AC rooms with two beds available for Rs 500 (24 rooms), and two–bed AC rooms can be booked for Rs 1300 (12 rooms). There are two non-AC rooms with five beds (Rs 1250) and one AC five–bed room (Rs 2500). A ten-bed non-AC dormitory could be booked for Rs 2500. Phone – 0487 2556535.

2) Captain Lakshmi She Stay Home: It was constructed by the municipality to offer safe accommodation for women who come alone or in groups. This is near the old age home at the Vadakkenada Outer Ring Road. There are only non–AC rooms here. The rent for a room with two beds (3 such rooms available) is Rs 600 per day, while it is Rs 900 for a room with three beds (4 rooms). A single dormitory bed costs Rs 250 for 12 hours (70 beds). Meanwhile, a single bed with an attached bathroom costs Rs 300 (24 beds). Phone connections are yet to be available at the centre.

3) Amenity Centre, Padinjarenada: Rs 200 for a single bed for up to 12 hours (32 beds). Phone – 8304880041.

4) Facilitation Centre, Kizhakkenada: AC bed with attached bathroom costs Rs 400 for 12 hours; Rs 300 for AC beds. Non-AC beds are available for Rs 250 for six hours. Beds could also be booked for just three hours. Phone – 0487 2993017, 8078780017. GST has to be additionally paid at all these accommodation centres.

5) Dewaswom Dormitory: A single bed could be booked for Rs 300 for up to 12 hours (44 beds); 22 beds have been reserved for women here. Phone: 8330870017.
