Who is Ravi Ghai? Know more about the hotelier who will soon be family to Arjun Tendulkar

The InterContinental Marine Drive in Mumbai, a luxury hotel facing the Arabian Sea, is a prominent name in the hospitality industry of India. Its rooftop bar, named Dome, a popular spot among the big names of Bollywood, is even rated among the top 10 sky bars by renowned international platforms. Soon, the InterContinental will have a connection with India's cricket icon, Sachin Tendulkar. Saaniya Chandok, the granddaughter of Ravi Ghai, who heads the Graviss Hospitality Ltd that owns the hotel, is all set to marry Sachin's son Arjun Tendulkar. As per reports, the couple's engagement was recently held at a low-key private ceremony attended by family and friends. 

A well-known landmark
The InterContinental, formerly known as the Nataraj Hotel, has been a well-known name in the region since the 1960s. It's also been a favourite among high-profile tourists, expats and travellers from across the world, especially for its seafront location and luxurious ambience. Ghai has been managing the hotel since 2005.

Ravi Ghai's Mayfair Banquet
The hotelier also runs Mayfair Banquet, the luxury facility in Worli that is known for hosting star-studded parties, weddings and similar elite events. The venue, launched in 1970, was a regular backdrop for the photographs of top stars, film poojas, fashion events and even award nights.  

A prominent name in hospitality
An alumnus of the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University, Ravi also launched brands like Kwality Ice Cream and brought in the Baskin-Robbins franchise to the South Asian region. His family is also rated as one of the prominent business families in the F&B sector of India.
