New Delhi: Tickets can now be booked to take advantage of the special festive season scheme announced by the Railway. The scheme offers passengers a 20% discount on tickets booked for travel between October 13 and 26, with the return journey between November 17 and December 1 on the same train.

Reservations for travel on October 13 have already begun. The tickets for the return leg must be booked when reservations open for that date, using the Connecting Journey option. Under the scheme, both onward and return journeys must be booked for the same class and the exact origin–destination pair. Changes in class or travel stations will not be permitted.

The discount applies to regular trains as well as festival season special trains. However, it will not apply to flexi-fare services such as the Rajdhani, Shatabdi, and Duronto. Passengers can book tickets either online or at railway station counters, but both tickets must be booked through the same mode.
