Did you know that India has a private rail service offering interesting packages for tourists? South Star Rail, which started operations a few years ago, conducts tours across the country and is launching a tour in Rajasthan in November. It allows the tourists to explore the regal magic of Rajasthan on rails. However, it must be noted that tourists cannot book tickets on this train via the IRCTC website.

What is South Star Rail?
South Star Rail, launched in 2022 swiftly gained fame as a luxury train service. South Star Rail won the award for the best domestic tour operator in 2024 as well as the Times of India Trendsetter award. The tickets for this private train must be booked through the Tour Times website. South Star Rail mostly organises tours to famous pilgrimage centres. 

Royal Rajasthan
The Royal Rajasthan tour package, available for 12 or 13 nights, starts from Ernakulam. The train starts at 2 pm on November 25 from the Ernakulam Town railway station. The passengers can visit either the Golconda Fort or the Ramoji Film City on November 27. The train reaches Jodhpur on November 29, where you can enjoy the fabulous hues of the ancient city. The train pulls into Jaisalmer on November 30 and Jaipur on December 1. On December 2, passengers could visit the mesmerising destinations in Ajmer. Udaipur City and Ekta Nagar have been scheduled in the itinerary on December 3 and 4, respectively. The return trip begins at 9 pm from Ekta Nagar on December 4 and reaches Kerala on the 7th. 

Amenities
Accommodation, travel, train ticket, room for freshening up, vegetarian breakfast, lunch, dinner and a litre of water a day are included in the package. It doesn’t include entry fees, guide fees and entertainment charges.

Ticket fare
The first AC ticket in this train costs Rs 64,950 per head and it includes an AC train ticket, AC transport, AC accommodation and vegetarian food. Meanwhile, the single sharing room costs Rs 77,940. Second AC compartment costs Rs 51,950, including AC train ticket, AC transportation, AC accommodation and vegetarian food. Single room sharing costs Rs 62,340. The ticket charges for third AC are Rs 44,750. Passengers receive a third AC train ticket, non–AC transportation, AC accommodation, and vegetarian food. The ticket costs Rs 53,700 if it is for a single room on a shared basis. Sleeper tickets could be purchased for Rs 34,950. This category includes a sleeper class train ticket, non-AC transport and vegetarian food.
