Satya Sai Baba Centenary: Special train services in the Kerala-Puttaparthi route

The birth centenary celebrations of Satya Sai Baba will be held in Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh, from November 13 to 23. The state government has planned elaborate celebrations on the occasion along with the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust. Meanwhile, the railways will operate 18 special trains from November 14 to 24 on the Kerala-Puttaparthi route. The special trains Bhubaneshwar-Bengaluru Cantonment, Araku Valley-Yelahanka, and Sambalpur-Bengaluru Cantonment will have services via Bengaluru.
The Thiruvananthapuram North - Prasanthi Nilayam Express (0093) will start at 6.05 am on November 19 and 21 and reach Puttaparthi the next day at 11 am. The return train (06094) will leave at 9 pm on November 20 and 22, and reach Thiruvananthapuram North the next day at 3.55 pm. The stops are Hindupur, Yelahanka, KR Puram, Whitefield, Bangarpettu, Kuppam, Selam, Erode, Tirupur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Kayamkulam, Kollam and Varkala.
Strict security
Around 216 CCTVs are installed at central locations in Puttaparthi to ensure security during the celebrations. Night vision drones will also be used for aerial surveillance of Puttaparthi. Around 10 lakh pilgrims are expected to visit Puttaparthi for the centenary celebrations. There will also be round-the-clock monitoring of vehicles and premises till November 25. Recently, a two-day exhibition was also held at the Satya Sai Higher Secondary School in Puttaparthi on the theme 'Science and Spirituality.'
