Kottayam's Nagambadom ground is all set to welcome the annual blooming season, as the famed flower show opens today. The magical door to the world of flowers and plants in myriad hues will be layed out to the public from 3 pm onwards. Kottayam MLA Thiruvanchur Radhakrishnan will inaugurate the flower show and the Travancore Fest organised in association with Malayala Manorama at 5 pm. The flower show and the shopping festival will be on until January 4, 2026.
Timings, ticket fares
The flower show is open from 3 pm to 9 pm on weekdays and from 11 am to 9 pm on weekends. Entry is restricted through passes. A unique collection of rare varieties of flowers and plants is the highlight of this year’s flower show. Various kinds of imported orchids, poinsettia, chrysanthemum, marigold, kalanchiyam, dahlia and aster are exhibited at the show.
The exhibition is curated in a sprawling 35,000-square-foot pavilion with a separate open-air area for ornamental birds. There will also be expos of handicrafts, home appliances, electronics, furniture and more at the event. A food court, featuring a variety of snacks, is also set up. The entry fee for the flower show is Rs 100 per person for those aged five and above.
