New Delhi: IndiGo has begun issuing travel vouchers and compensation to passengers who were affected by the airline disruption in the first week of December. Passengers whose tickets were cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled departure are eligible for a refund, along with compensation ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 depending on the length of their journey.
In addition to this, passengers affected by the travel disruptions on December 3, 4, and 5 are also eligible for a travel voucher worth Rs 10,000. Passengers on the 10 flights operated from Kerala are eligible for the Rs 10,000 voucher. The voucher is valid for 12 months and must be used for bookings made within this period. The voucher amount can be applied not only to tickets but also to pre-booked meals, seat selections and additional baggage.

How to claim
Passengers eligible for the voucher may have already received an email. Those who have not should visit the site and check the ‘Gesture of care’ section to confirm eligibility. For statutory compensation as per government norms, access the ‘CAR compensation’ page on the site. Compensation can be received either as a voucher or directly credited to your bank account. If the airline informs you of a flight cancellation up to 24 hours before departure, it is obligated to provide either an alternative ticket or a full refund.
