Kerala’s healthcare system has long been hailed for its efficiency and quality, often drawing patients from across India and beyond. But for Veronica, a solo traveller from Spain, the experience went far beyond expectations.
Having visited a general hospital in Alappuzha, she has shared her experience on Instagram. In this video, she describes the care she received as remarkable, saying it was almost unbelievable. She is particularly impressed that a public hospital could operate at such a high standard. Veronica also notes that she did not know whether such standards are maintained nationwide.
“In Spain, my native country, seeing a dermatologist often requires a wait of around eight months,” she explains. “But in India, there was no need to book months in advance! I simply walked into the hospital, registered, and was seen by a dermatologist within ten minutes. And all of this happened at a public hospital, which I found the most remarkable part.”Veronica recently visited the General Hospital in Alappuzha to consult a dermatologist.
Not a 'nation-wide' phenomenon
Many people commenting on her experience have noted that such efficiency in a government hospital should not be expected in other states of India. Veronica has been exploring various parts of India for some time now. Her reels on Kerala have been viewed by several lakh people, many of whom have left comments urging her to visit the state again.
