Air India and Air India Express have scheduled special services to various parts of the country to mitigate the severe air travel crisis in West Asia. The airline company has announced additional services focused on airports in Kerala, making it easier for expatriates to come home for Ramadan. Both companies will operate 44 services today, including 24 special services from the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
Advantage for Keralites
Air India Express will operate special services from Abu Dhabi to Kochi and Kozhikode. Meanwhile, the airline operates flights from Sharjah to Kannur and Mangaluru. There will be two services from Muscat to Kochi and one flight to Kozhikode. Meanwhile, the company has scheduled flights from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to Kozhikode, and a special service from Riyadh to Kozhikode. However, the flights to Kuwait and Qatar have been temporarily suspended. Long-distance flights to North America and Europe will continue as usual.
Note for passengers
The authorities said that passengers could renew their tickets without additional charges if the flights were cancelled, or the amount would be fully refunded. Air India is considering arranging more flights from the West Asia to Kerala ahead of Ramadan.
