Bengaluru-Mumbai summer special train to be launched on May 13, regular operations from May 19

A new bi-weekly train will be launched soon from Bengaluru's Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal (SMVT) to Lokmanya Tilak Termius (LTT) of Mumbai to ease the high demand on the 1208-km route. Its inaugural run will be on May 13, according to the Indian Rail Info website.
The regular service is slated to begin on May 19. The Bengaluru-Mumbai service (train 16553) will be on every Saturday and Tuesday. The train in the return direction (16554) will be on every Sunday and Wednesday, from May 20.
Routes and timings
The train's main stops will be Davangere (DVG), SSS Hubballi Jn (UBL), Dharwad (DWR), Belagavi (BGM), Miraj Jn (MRJ), Sangli (SLI), Karad (KRD), Satara (STR), Pune Jn (PUNE), Lonavla (LNL), Kalyan Jn (KYN) and Thane (TNA).
Other summer special trains
The Kanniyakumar-Chennai Egmore Special Fare Superfast (06046) will be launched on May 17 and will run till June 7. In the return direction (06045), the train will be operational till June 5. The Kollam-Hyderabad special fare summer special (07194) will be launched on May 26 and will operate until June 29. From May 14 to May 28, there will also be a Velankanni-Thiruvananthapuram Central Special Fare train (06032). The return train (06031) will run until May 27.
