Indian Railways to operate more than 100 special trains to Kerala for Onam

All tracks lead to Kerala this Onam, going by Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw's announcement that more than 100 special trains would be operated from various parts of the country to Kerala during the extremely busy Onam season.
The list of special trains will be published soon. Although four special trains have been announced from Bengaluru to Kerala, no services have been approved yet from Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Hubbali, Indore, and Jaipur.
Passengers, meanwhile, have been urging the authorities to allot more trains on the Thiruvananthapuram – Chennai route this year during the Onam holiday season.
Tickets are already sold out on the Thiruvananthapuram – Chennai Mail for August 22. Meanwhile, the waitlist has exceeded 200 on the Ananthapuri Express. There are no tickets available on August 21 and 22 for any class on the Bengaluru – Kanyakumari Island Express from Bengaluru to Thiruvananthapuram.
No special trains have been scheduled on Saturday, August 22, from Bengaluru to Thiruvananthapuram. There has also been demand to allow more train services on August 29, 30 and 31 to accommodate those returning after Onam.
