To accommodate the heavy rush of pilgrims heading for the annual feast of Our Lady of Good Health in Velankanni, Tamil Nadu, the Southern Railway has announced special train services between Ernakulam and Velankanni. The special services will run via Kottayam, Kollam, and Sengottai, offering a convenient travel option for devotees from Kerala.

Train schedule and timings
The Ernakulam–Velankanni special (06061) will operate on Thursdays from August 27 to September 10. The train will depart from Ernakulam Junction at 1 pm and is scheduled to reach Velankanni at 5.50 am the following day. In the return direction, the Velankanni–Ernakulam special (06062) will run on Fridays from August 28 to September 11, leaving Velankanni at 6.40 pm and arriving in Ernakulam at 11.50 am the next day.

Coach composition
The special train will feature a composition of 19 coaches, including two AC two-tier, two AC three-tier, 13 sleeper class, and two general second-class coaches. Booking for these special services is expected to open shortly, helping pilgrims plan their journey well in advance.
