The Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat (26651/26652), launched in November last year with eight coaches, will have 16 coaches from tomorrow (August 17, Monday). The upgraded Vande Bharat will have 14 chair car coaches and two executive chair car coaches. The train, which covers 638 km in 8 hours and 40 minutes, is Kerala's third Vande Bharat service after the Thiruvananthapuram-Kasaragod Vande Bharat (20633/20634) and the Mangaluru Central-Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat (20631/20632). The Ernakulam-KSR Bengaluru Vande Bharat train is the fastest train on the route, as other trains currently take more than 11 hours to cover the same distance. The train runs every day except Wednesday.
Timings of the train
The train leaves from KSR Bengaluru at 5.10 am and reaches Ernakulam at 1.50 pm. In its return journey, the train leaves Ernakulam at 2.20 pm and reaches Bengaluru at 11 pm.
EKM-KSR Bengaluru Vande Bharat stops
The train stops at seven stations. These are Krishnarajapuram, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Coimbatore, Palakkad and Thrissur.
Train fare
The chair car fare of the train is ₹1,095 while an executive class seat costs ₹2,289, exclusive of reservation fees, supplementary and catering charges, and GST.
