Air India Express to launch Kochi to Bangkok direct flight; crew to get new uniforms

Kochi is set to get closer to Thailand as Air India Express announces a new direct flight service connecting Kochi to Bangkok. Starting October 25, the budget carrier will operate four weekly flights on this route, making international travel more convenient for holidaymakers and business travellers alike from Kerala. The airline will operate these flights using Boeing 737 aircraft on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

According to the announced schedule, the flight from Kochi will depart Nedumbassery Airport at 10.15 pm and arrive in Bangkok at 3.55 am the following morning. The return flight will depart Bangkok at 4.55 am and touch down in Kochi at 7.40 am. This new service adds to the existing direct flights to Bangkok operated by AirAsia and Thai Lion Air from Kochi, offering travellers more flexibility and competitive pricing.

Alongside expanding its international network, Air India Express has unveiled a stunning new uniform collection for its cabin crew. Part of the airline's 'Tales of India' campaign, the designs pay tribute to India's rich handloom traditions and diverse textile heritage.

Crafted by the airline's in-house designer Pooja Krishnan, the new attire beautifully incorporates iconic patterns from across the country. Elements of Tamil Nadu's Kanchipuram weaves, Himachal Pradesh's traditional Pattu, Gujarat's vibrant Patola patterns, Assam's delicate Gamosa motifs, and Madhya Pradesh's historic Bagh prints are intricately woven into the uniform designs. Moving toward sustainability and comfort, the uniforms are made from innovative, breathable banana crepe fabric, combining style with true functionality.
