The Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) Budget Tourism Cell is set to launch its highly anticipated tour packages to Lakshadweep and Hyderabad on September 22. Alongside these luxury packages, KSRTC will officially roll out its newly developed booking software and a novel waiting list system to streamline travel reservations.

The formal launch will take place at Hotel Chaitram in Thampanoor in the evening, with the Transport Minister officiating the ceremony. During the event, the minister will present awards to the first ten passengers selected for the inaugural Lakshadweep trip, as well as units and employees who performed exceptionally well in July and August.

New online booking software and waiting list feature
The launch of the new dedicated software will allow travellers to book their tour packages online seamlessly. In a first for the state transport body, KSRTC is also introducing a waiting list feature for ticket reservations, mirroring the system used by Indian Railways. Thampanoor ward councillor R Harikumar will preside over the function, which will be attended by KSRTC CMD Dr PS Pramoj Shankar, senior officials, and key political dignitaries.

Exploring Hyderabad: Package options
KSRTC has curated two distinct itineraries for travellers wishing to explore the historic city of Hyderabad. The packages include accommodation, meals, and entry fees to various tourist attractions. Accommodation is arranged on a triple-sharing basis.

The scenic Lakshadweep getaway
For those yearning for an island escape, KSRTC has designed an affordable flight-inclusive package from Kochi to the pristine shores of Agatti and Kalpitti islands. This three-night, four-day tropical holiday is tailored to suit a modest budget.

Travellers can choose between homestay and resort accommodations based on their preferences. The package comprehensively covers the entry permit for Lakshadweep, airport transfers, twin-sharing accommodation, meals, Wi-Fi access, and travel insurance. In addition to exploring Agatti's stunning beaches and witnessing spectacular sunsets, the package features a special boat cruise to Kalpitti island. Standard activities included in the itinerary are snorkelling, glass-bottom boat rides, kayaking, and spotting dolphins and sea turtles.

Adventure enthusiasts can opt for scuba diving and parasailing for an additional charge of ₹4,000 and ₹3,500 respectively. Guests who prefer vegetarian meals must indicate their choice at the time of booking.

Important guidelines and booking details
To secure a seat, the full package amount must be paid on the day of booking. Full airfare is applicable for children above two years of age. Given that island travel is highly subject to sudden weather shifts, passengers are strictly advised to adhere to all safety guidelines issued by the officials. Travellers must also carry their routine medications.
