Arm-less Congress worker takes on CPM ‘authoritarianism’ in Kannur panchayat

  • December 10 , 2025

Vyshakh K, born without both arms, has emerged as the Congress’s challenger in CPM-dominated Ettukudukka in Kannur.
From stopping polluting units and pushing back against alleged intimidation to serving as a booth agent and eventually becoming a Congress candidate, Vyshak’s fight against what he calls the CPM’s “authoritarianism” has turned Kankol-Alappadamba grama panchayat into a political flashpoint. This video follows the tensions that unfolded after BLO Aneesh George’s suicide, the muted protests that followed, and the local body election that Vyshak believes could offer residents a window to loosen the CPM’s grip on the area.
