Embracing equality and artistry: A historic moment at MGU Arts Fest Bharatanatyam - Transgender category

The Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) Arts Festival in Kottayam witnessed a momentous celebration of equality and love for art at the 'Justice' venue in BCM College. A groundbreaking event unfolded during the Bharatanatyam competition, as Ziya and Thanvi Suresh from RLV College Of Music And Fine Arts, Trippunithura, shared the first prize in the transgender category, showcasing exceptional talent.

Notably, Sanjana Chandran of St Teresa’s College, Ernakulam, and Akrithi of Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam, earned an 'A' grade in the event held late on Monday evening. Beyond recognizing artistic excellence, this event marked a significant step towards inclusivity and acceptance in cultural competitions.
