Kerala's war on extreme poverty: On how 64,006 lives were found and lifted

On Nov 1, Kerala declared that the state eradicated extreme poverty. But what does that really mean? How is extreme poverty different from poverty? Will everyone have access to regular water, food and income?

To undertand what it means to be classified under 'extreme poverty' and discover the efforts behind Kerala's landmark declaration, Onmanorama interviewed R Shiny, the joint director of panchayats in Kasaragod and former state co-ordinator of the Extreme Poverty Eradication Programme.
