Playing with Fire: How safe are Kerala's festivals? | Thrissur Pooram

Kerala's most famous festival, the Thrissur Pooram, is set to begin on April 26th. But this year, a dark shadow looms over the festival ever since a fireworks assembling unit preparing for the Pooram exploded, killing 14 people and injuring over 40.
But this tragedy is not the first time festival fireworks ended in a disaster. In fact, Kerala has been playing with fire for a long time.
