Kerala is gearing up for Onam as the Athachamayam procession kicks off the festive season. The procession was officially inaugurated at Atham Nagar in Thrikkakara, with around 2,000 artists from across Kerala taking part in colourful cultural performances. From Gulikan Theyyam and Padayani to Mirror Dance, Thilakkavadi, Pookkavadi and the iconic Pulikali troupe from Thrissur, the procession brings together Kerala’s diverse artistic traditions.
