In its 100 days, the V D Satheesan government demonstrated both purpose and drift. It honoured some of its promises, like free bus rides for women. But looked indecisive about others, like the comprehensive health insurance scheme or weak taxes on 'diet alcohol'. It was caught napping when the monsoon turned rogue but managed to pick itself up and deliver. Its ministers, including the CM, made unseemly remarks. But they were gracious enough to say sorry.
