A Ponnani native was caught smuggling gold worth nearly ₹1 crore through Calicut International Airport, with part of it hidden in his eight-month-old baby’s diaper. Officials say it is the first known case in Kerala of a baby being used as a carrier in gold smuggling. The case has raised concerns over smugglers exploiting children to evade security checks.
