The Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2024 explained: Key changes and concerns

The Bill mandates at least two non-Muslim members in the Central Waqf Council and State Waqf Boards, which were previously exclusive to Muslims. It also removes elections for Waqf Boards, giving state governments full control over appointing members and the CEO, eliminating the requirement that the CEO be Muslim.
