BRICS was created in 2009 as a forum for major emerging economies seeking greater influence in institutions dominated by Western powers.
On Sunday, the 18th BRICS Summit concluded as nations unanimously adopted the ‘New Delhi Declaration’, which included criticisms against tariffs and carbon border taxes and calls to reform international financial institutions and bring peace to the Middle East.
