SB College, Changanacherry, has revived its much-acknowledged gathering of students dubbed Thanalkoottam. It offers the students a platform to portray their valuable talents. It has been held twice so far, both being a success.

The events for this year were planned successfully during the last two months under the tree shade in front of Mathematics department. Young singers, talented violinists, magnificent guitarists and exciting drums and jazz players have conquered the stage.

Rather than being a fearful stage, it provides the shade and warmth of friendship, which the tree shade symbolises. The creative decorations of the place provide an ambience for showcasing art and culture.

Programmes are not mere entertainment. They throw light on the current social issues and deteriorating human values. The event also captures a huge audience, who really enjoys and promotes this unique voice of youth.

Through Thanalkoottam, meaning the gathering under the shade, the vibrant youth channelises their energy for peaceful purposes and attains confidence.

The college KSU unit had vowed to bring back this cultural event as part of its promises ahead of the union election.

Hats off to its brilliant organisers!
