Kochi: Sacred Heart College Thevara, a big name in the state for higher education marked its Jubilee with grand celebrations.

The weeklong celebration ended with a 'Maha Alumni' meeting and a cultural night on January 20.

The function was attended by renowned members of the community including the Member of Parliament K V Thomas, former professor of the department of Chemistry of the college, MLA of Ernakulam Hibi Eden and Mayor of Cochin Soumini Jain who are also the alumni of the institution.

The chief guest of the day was ever time romantic hero of Mollywood Kunchako Boban. Chakochan as he is lovingly called added colour to the event by performing a few steps on the stage to the delight of the audience.

A specially designed cake was cut by Rev Dr Johnson X Palackappillil (Fr Prasant) CMI, Principal of the college to mark the glory of the achievement of the institution. Former faculty and alumni who had crossed the age of seventy five, the age of the institution were honoured at the function. With dance performances, music, drama and lucky draws by faculty, former and present students made the event a variety entertainer.

However, the presence of a huge crowd was the main highlight of the event. As always heartifest , proclaimed the strength of the bond that the heartian community shares with their institution.

Heartifest marked the colourful end of a weeklong jubilee celebrations of Sacred Heart th college Jamboree ( official name for the Jubilee celebration).
