Christ College prof bags 'Best Teacher' award

Irinjalakuda: C Krishnan, head of economics department in Christ College, Irinjalakuda, is a man with impeccable records. To laud his contribution as an educator, he was recently presented with the 'best teacher' award for 2019, instituted in the memory of Rev Fr Jose Thekkan.

The selection was made by a team of jury consisting of ISRO former chairman K Radakrishnan, Kerala Kalamandalam Deemed University vice chancellor T K Narayan, History M G S Narayan, poet K Sachidanathan, Kerala Principal's council president M Usman, and Amala Institute of Medical Science director Fr Francis Kurissery.

Union Minister of state for tourism and culture K J Alphons Kannanthanam presented the award in the ceremony held at Christ College auditorium, which includes cash of rupees 50,000 and citation.

K J Alphons said, "A teacher in a classroom inspires children to achieve more, question more, and dream more, you are indeed worthy of the title."

Krishnan has received D Litt in Economics from South American University and has published 34 research papers in various international journals. He also won the A M Gani award at Krishnan University for best research paper.
