What is the secret of your success in the KLEE 2018?

The Pomodoro technique helped me overcome my procrastination. It helped me to put in consistent efforts.

How much time do you think one requires for serious preparations for this examination?

A month is plenty of time!

Which newspapers and magazines did you read consistently?

I regularly read The Hindu.

Where did you complete your graduation? Why did you choose law as a career afterwards?

I completed my B com from St Albert's College, Ernakulam. Having grown up near the High Court, I was always curious about what went on inside. I wanted to be a part of it and law seemed like a very promising career.

Did you attempt CLAT or any other national law entrance examinations? What do you think, is the major difference between the question paper patterns of CLAT and KLEE?

No. Because they don't offer a three-year program. CLAT lays more emphasis on legal reasoning whereas KLEE tests the general knowledge of the aspirants.

Do you have any suggestions for books or reference materials for future KLEE candidates?

The Ultimate Guide to LL.B entrance by M.A. Rashid and Nisa Fasil

What was your preparation strategy for:

General English: I watched you tube videos by Khan Academy for grammar and I bought Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis for vocabulary.

General Knowledge: I did not invest much time! I banked on my general reading to get me through that part. The Hindu helped me cover current affairs.

Legal Aptitude: Guides by Lexis Nexis and Universal Publishers are of great help.

How important is coaching for clearing KLEE?

Not very important. It boils down to the effort you put in. I needed some structure. So, I went for coaching in order to create some accountability.

Did you take any mock tests? Do you think it is vital for students to practice mock tests?

Yes, it acquaints you with the pattern and works wonders for your confidence.

Tell us something about your hobbies?

Reading is my favorite past time. My taste is quite eclectic. I read whatever catches my fancy but mostly non-fiction coupled with a bit of classic literature.

How did your parents, family and friends contribute to your success?

My parents were very supportive when I pitched the idea of me becoming a lawyer. My friends also encouraged me.

What is your future plan after completing LLB?

I hope to set up my own practice one day. The sense of autonomy you get by having your own office is one of the things that drew me to this profession.

What is your advice to the future aspirants?

Focus on legal aptitude and English. If you put in dedicated effort, you can score well.
