Holi was celebrated at the L.B.S College of Engineering, Kasaragod, on Thursday. The College Union gave a chance to the students to get out of the classrooms, wear white, and spread colors throughout the campus as part of a special programmed dubbed 'Rangoli 2k19'.

Classes were suspended at 3 pm, as the college administrators gave in to the Union request for celebrations and granted permission to conduct Holi on the campus. Packs of colours were made available in abundance as students turned wild while hurling hues of blue, green, red and all shades of purple and yellow at each other.

Celebrations started with the seniors getting into classes, sparing none of their colleagues in the attack of colors. More fun ensued as even some staff members took part in the merriment.

Starting with the Computer-Science Department at the corner of the campus, the jovial crowd moved towards L-Block, which was the main venue for the celebrations since it is here the first-year classes are. Sparing all senior-junior rivalry apart, students from all branches joined in the celebrations till the whole campus became a beautiful mess of youngsters trying to douse their friends with glossy bright colors.

While most students wore white dresses beneath their uniforms, a majority of them were still in their uniforms. As the celebrations settled down and hostellers took off to change, day scholars were seen rubbing their faces and further drenching themselves in water trying to get the colours off their dresses.

For the students of L.B.S, this past week has been eventful. From pep talks by their favourite celebrities on Sunday, to the Arts festival that was held on 18th and 19th, and now Holi celebrations, the College Union is giving them more and more reasons to look back at college days with fondness. An upcoming event is Traditional Day, which is to be held on March 29. After that, the Computer Science Department will be conducting Teranis tech-fest, for which the coordinators are already on full blast trying to lure more and more participants with fun contests on their Instagram page.
