There's much talk about the education sector in India. The advent of technology has poised it for growth. And yet, as prominence for other popular fields such as engineering and medicine remain unabated, education sector finds itself an unexplored field still. But, not for long.

One of India's esteemed institutions, Azim Premji University has begun accepting applications for their master's programme in Education. It aims to address the significant talent gap in the education sector through its unique and broad programme which includes theory, practice, research, policy and planning.

Open to fresh and experienced graduates, the programme equips them to take up roles such as Program Associates/Managers, Curriculum Designers, Teacher Educators, School Leaders, Researchers and so on.

The university offers a unique learning experience with a curriculum of core courses that provide the foundation and a wide range of electives that allows students to focus in areas of their interest like School Organisation, Teacher Professional Development, Early Childhood Education and others.

Integrated field practice at the University consists of practicums every week, long exposure visits, field research, internship opportunities, and independent field projects. Students also have other learning opportunities through workshops, seminars, guest lectures and events organised in the campus.

The university is also committed towards supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds. It financial assistance for deserving students through full or part scholarships. Working professionals with 3+ years of experience will also be provided with a 50 per cent tuition fee waiver.

Azim Premji University's Postgraduate Programmes aim to address this by preparing competent, motivated graduates and enable them to contribute meaningfully to the social sector”, S Giridhar, Chief Operating Officer, Azim Premji University said.

A variety of challenging and fulfilling roles are available in the education sector. Students who graduated from Azim Premji are now working in NGOs, philanthropic organisations, corporate social responsibility departments, research and educational institutions.

The six batches of postgraduate students have all gone to receive excellent campus placements. Close to 90 organisations visit the campus every year.

Interested students can apply online on the University website. Applicants will be shortlisted based on a written test and a personal interview. The final date to apply is April 30, 2019 with the test scheduled in 10 centers across India on May 11, 2019.
