KEAM 2020: Second allotment results rescheduled to Oct 23

The second phase allotment to Engineering/Pharmacy courses and the first phase allotment to Architecture courses for the year 2020-21, which was expected on October 16, will be now published on October 23.

Students have the option to rearrange or delete unwanted options up to 10 am on October 22. This will be available on the website of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations www.cee.kerala.gov.

Candidates who get allotment through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) are also advised to delete their options for state quota seat within the stipulated time.

As several students will accept the allotment based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), many seats would fall vacant in Kerala. The first allotment list based on JEE ranks will be published on Saturday and the second allotment on October 21. As the second allotment in Kerala for KEAM 2020 will now be published on October 23, the vacant seats will also be included for the allotment in the state.

The students in Kerala are required to complete the admission process at the colleges after the second allotment is published in the state. However, students will find it difficult to travel to these colleges amid the COVID-19 crisis. Also, after the national-level process is completed, several students, who sought admission at the allotted colleges, might get better options. They will then have to seek admission in the new colleges again. Hence, the publishing of the second allotment list in Kerala was postponed to avoid this hassle.

Those students, who are allotted government engineering colleges, will be allowed to report at a centre in their own districts for admission to avoid the travel hassle. The technical education director will inform them about these centres later. Also, it is expected that the managements of self-financing engineering colleges will make arrangements for online-reporting.

The allotment list of October 23 will be based on the options submitted till October 22. The admission schedule will be released later.

The office of Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, CEE Kerala, conducts KEAM centralised admissions and counselling in the state.

The first round of seat allotment was declared on October 7, 2020, and the second round counselling started on October 12, 2020. The trial allotment list for KEAM 2020 was released on October 4, 2020.
