Thiruvananthapuram: Only four more days are left for registering one's choice of institutes and field of study as the first round of seat allotment for the medical and allied courses in Kerala gets underway.

Candidates may submit their options till 5 pm on November 15 and the first allotment list would be published by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) on November 16 evening.

Candidates can now submit options for MBBS, BDS, Agriculture, Veterinary, Forestry and Fisheries courses on the CEE website.

The CEE opened the window for option registration on Tuesday, November 10. The state merit list is based on the NEET scores of the eligible candidates.

Candidates who fail to make the registration within the deadline will lose seat allotments for eligible streams and institutes irrespective of his/her rank.

Who should register anew

CEE said that even candidates who had earlier submitted options for engineering, pharmacy and architecture courses should register fresh options for medical and allied courses if they wish to join these streams. The allotment would take place considering all these options in the order of preference submitted by the candidate.

Options have to be also registered for seats in private, self-financing medical and dental colleges under minority managements also now. For more details, check www.cee.kerala.gov.in

Options can also be registered for the Cooperation and Banking courses conducted by College of Cooperation, Banking and Management, which was recently brought under the Kerala Agricultural University.

Engineering - third and final list

Meanwhile, the CEE has also published the third allotment list of engineering and pharmacy courses and the second allotment list of architecture.

This is the last allotment conducted for these courses by the CEE this year for seats in private and self-financing colleges.

Payment deadline for engineering courses

At the same time, candidates who have received allotments in the third round of engineering and pharmacy admission process and second round of architecture have to pay fees online or at specified head post offices by November 13 and take admission at the allotted college before 4 pm on that day.

Candidates who have received allotment should take a printout of the allotment memo from the homepage and also download the data sheet.

Follow instructions on CEE website

Instructions for candidates joining government engineering colleges are given on the website of CEE by Director of Technical Education. Those who do not join would lose their seat as well as the higher options.

Similarly, candidates who fail to join seats allotted in private and self-financing engineering, pharmacy and architecture colleges have to follow the conditions set by the institutions concerned. Moreover, those who take admissions in such colleges now would not be considered for the subsequent allotments conducted by the CEE.

It is through the ongoing three-phase centralized counselling process seats in government and private professional institutions are conducted. While 85% seats in government institutions are filled up from the state quota, 15% seats are earmarked for the All-India Quota.
