There is something to cheer about for job aspirants in the state with the Kerala Public Service Commission set to issue a notification soon for around 100 posts.
The notification, considered as the New Year gift, will be for the following jobs; secretariat assistant, teaching posts in universities, high school teachers for various subjects.
There will be three tests this year for posts which do not require educational qualification of the tenth, plus two and degree. Besides, appointment tests for important posts like LDC will be conducted this year.
Online leap
The PSC is opening more online examination centres as a New Year gift to the people of the state. The centres at Kottayam and Palakkad would be inaugurated soon. This would be followed by the opening of new centres at Thrissur and Kannur. More tests will be converted to online mode this year. PSC chairman M K Sakeer said the move is aimed at creating facilities for 3000 more candidates to take online exams.
Discrepancies removed
There were several discrepancies in the special rules for posts in various departments which had been entrusted with the PSC for recruitment. All these discrepancies have been resolved. The special rules for appointment to non-teaching posts in universities are in place.
The PSC chairman said the notification for appointment to non-teaching posts in 13 universities will be issued this month. The appointments are to be made in more than 10 posts of the universities
Big exam
Though the PSC is ready to hold the test for posts that don’t require tenth class as a qualification in February, this cannot be possible without the cooperation of different departments. The biggest challenge before the PSC is to hold the exam before the Assembly elections.
The PSC will take a final decision on the exam which will have more than 15 lakh candidates, after eliciting state government's response. Massive safety measures would be required for the exams in view of Covid pandemic.
The tests for plus two and graduates, will be held later.
