EFLU invites applications from language enthusiasts; last date 31 August

The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) in Hyderabad is a premium institute which offers various courses in English and other foreign languages. EFLU has centres in Lucknow and Shillong. For more information visit – www.efluniversity.ac.in.

The last date for applying for various courses at the three centres is 31 August. These are the full time programs that are offered at EFLU:
BA Honors (English, Arabic, French, German, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Spanish, Korean and Persian)
BA Journalism and Mass Communication.
MA (English, Journalism and Mass Communication, Computational Linguistics, English Literature, English (cafeteria system), Linguistics, Literatures in English, Comparative Literature, English Language Teaching, Hindi Language and Literature, Arabic, French, German, Russian, Hispanic and Japanese literatures)
PG Diploma in Teaching of English/Arabic
B.Ed English
PG Diploma in Translation – English
PhD in various subjects
The prospectus that contains information about the various courses that are offered in each centre and their eligibilities could be downloaded from the website.

The entrance test that is 2/3 hours long would be held on 9 September. Meanwhile, the entrance test for the PhD programs is scheduled on 18 September. The computer based objective type entrance test carries a total of 100 marks. The entrance test for the PhD programs carry 70 marks for the computer based test and 30 marks for interview. The candidates could apply for up to two courses / programs. However, they must refer the timetable of the entrance test so that the exams wouldn’t overlap.

There are 25 exam centres in the country including Thiruvananthapuram, Mangaluru, Bengaluru and Chennai. The candidates can choose up to three preferred centers.

Application and tution fee
The application fee is Rs 500; it is Rs 250 for scheduled caste candidates and people with disabilities. The fee for the BA courses is Rs 335 per semester and Rs 500 per semester for MA. There are additional fees too.

The children of parents whose annual income is less than Rs 1.5 lakh need not pay the tuition fee. However, this is not applicable for the PhD programs. The students can apply for various scholarships too.
