Thiruvananthapuram: The valuation of the higher secondary Plus-One examination papers began today, Oct 20. Around 25,000 teachers are taking part in the valuation camps that have been arranged in more than 80 centres by the Department of Higher Secondary Education of the Kerala Government.

Meanwhile, the teachers’ organisations have expressed their displeasure over the new regulation that in case a teacher is absent from a batch of five, the rest of the teachers should value the 26 papers that are to be completed in a day.

The teachers remarked that the department which forces them to value more exam papers in less time would take strict action even if he/she makes a slight error.

It is alleged that junior teachers were assigned to prepare the answer keys instead of experienced subject experts.
