Kerala, Calicut varsities get approval for distance education courses

Thiruvananthapuram/Malappuram: The University Grants Commission has approved the University of Calicut’s 24 distance education courses in the UG and UG programmes.

Meanwhile, the University of Kerala got approval for its 20 distance education courses.

Programmes at the University of Kerala – English, Malayalam, Hindi, Sociology, Political Science, History, Economics, Library Science, Commerce (UG and PG programmes in all these subjects), Public Administration (PG only) and BBA.

The online applications could be submitted at www.ideku.net from November 1.

Dr. R Vasanthagopal, director of School of Distance Education said that the admission to BCA, degree programmes in Mathematics and Computer Science and other post-graduate programmes would begin as and when these courses receive UGC approval.

Programmes at the University of Calicut – Sociology, Sanskrit, Political Science, Philosophy, Malayalam, History, Hindi, English, Economics, Arabic, Commerce (UG and PG programmes in all these subjects), Afsal Ul Ulama (UG only) and BBA.

The applications to these courses would be invited within a month.
