NEET – UG topper Gourisankar shares tips that helped him crack the exam

Changanassery: S Gourisankar, who came on top in Kerala for the NEET – UG entrance exam has always dreamed to pursue MBBS at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi. He is thrilled to share this incredible achievement with his family, friends and teachers too. Meanwhile, Gourisankar has grabbed the 17th rank in the overall rank list.

Gourisankar had completed his higher secondary education at Chethipuzha Placid Vidyavihar Senior Secondary School. He had passed plus two by scoring 98.9%. He completed the plus one course by staying at the school hostel. However, academics became online, owing to the COVID-19 situation, when he was in Plus Two.

Gourisankar says that he got more time to study during this period. His teachers had been supportive and cleared doubts through phone calls and other social media platforms. When he didn’t have online sessions, Gourisankar utilized that free time to learn the portions in depth. He had prepared a special time table so that he could study systematically. He divided the lessons into small parts which made it easier for him to learn them.

Gourisankar says he spent almost ten hours studying every day. Before moving onto the complex mathematical problems, he made sure to be thorough with the theories. Gourisankar says that he had made a list of equations in Physics, which helped him recall them easily. Placid Vidyavihar Senior Secondary School principal Fr. Scaria Ethirettu and his teachers visited Gourisankar at his home to congratulate him and convey their wishes.

Gourisankar is the elder son of Pathanamthitta Edappon natives Vettiyarveetil Sunil Kumar and Rekha. Pavi Sankar, who is a class twelve student is his brother.
