Young Researcher Award for outstanding researchers, apply before Jan 15

The Young Researcher Award instituted by the Lady Tata Memorial Trust (LTMT) aims to recognise and support young researchers with an outstanding track record in Life Sciences and Biotechnology for finding innovative solutions to major problems related to human diseases.

The applicants should have PhD in biological sciences/Masters in medical sciences/ or equivalent qualification in subjects related to Biotechnology. They shouldn’t cross 40 years of age as of 31 March, 2022.

The awardee will get a contingency grant of Rs 25,000 per month. This is besides the salary from the institute where the awardee works.

The awardee also gets a grant off Rs 10.00 lakhs per annum for 1st and 2nd year; 7 lakh per annum for 3rd and 4th year; and 5 lakh per annum for the 5th year. The grant is to meet the expenses incurred in connection with the implementation of the research project as per the Award.

Interested candidates should apply via the director of the institution where he/she works. The online application should be submitted before 15 January. There will be a processing fee Rs 500.

The Trust also grants an international award for research in the field of blood cancer. The application for that award could be submitted from 1 January to 15 March, 2022.
