The candidates who got the All-India quota seats in the first round of Medical PG admission have been relieved from securing their seats by directly reaching the college. Due to the pandemic, they can join via online. However, those who wish to upgrade their choice in the second round by retaining the already allotted seat should directly join the college.

Meanwhile, those who join online should confirm the same via email and upload the scanned copies of the required documents. The list of the documents is given in the pages 35 and 36 of the information bulletin. The colleges would publish their email id, phone number and the fee portal in their respective websites. The candidates must remember that the online admission is temporary. Later, they have to secure their seats by reaching the college. The admission would be finalised after the certificate verification and medical check-up of the candidates. In the first round, the candidates can report until 28 January. In case the candidate wishes to give up the seat, they can do it until 4 pm on 3 February. Visit www.mcc.nic.in for more details.

UG: AIIMS allows more seats
With a new AIIMS centre opening in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, eligible candidates can now secure admission for MBBS courses at 20 AIIMS institutes in the country. The number of seats has gone up to 2044, including the 50 seats at Mudurai. The candidates, especially from Kerala, can redo their choice filling until 11.55 pm on 24 January.

Those who are interested in joining the NRI seats at the deemed universities, AIIMS institutes, JIPMER and Aligarh Muslim University should select the ‘deemed universities’ category and pay the fee for that. The candidates who failed to do so can use the ‘reset’ option, which is a one – time option, to complete the procedure. They can do it until 11 am on 24 January.

Candidates of reserved categories who had transferred to the general category are now demanding to return to the reservation categories. However, this is not possible even with the ‘reset’ option. The opportunity to change categories will be allowed only once.
