Apply for paramedical diploma courses, Plus-Two minimum qualification

Applications for paramedical diploma courses offered by the government and self-financing institutions in Kerala have been invited. The admission for 16 pharmacy/health inspector diploma courses is for the academic year 2021–22.

Applications can be submitted from February 9 to 25.

There is no entrance test.
The rank list and admission are based on the marks scored by the applicants for certain papers in the qualifying exams.

A single application is required to apply for various courses in different institutes.

Courses
Pharmacy, Health Inspector, Medical Lab Technology, Radio Diagnosis and Radio Therapy Technology, Radiological Technology, Ophthalmic Assistance, Dental Mechanics, Dental Hygienist, Operation Theatre and Anaesthesia Technology, Neuro Technology, Dialysis Technology, Endoscopic Technology, Dental Operating Assistance, Respiratory Technology and Central Sterile Supply Department Technology are some of the courses.

(Sterile supply requires the employee to clean and sterile the equipment and supply them to the various departments in the hospital as required. Pharmacy course is of two years and four months, while operation theatre and anaesthesia technology and endoscopy technology last for two-and-half years. The radio diagnosis and radio therapy technology is a three-year course. The rest of the courses could be completed in two years.)

Application fee
The application fee is Rs 400 and for those in the SC/ST category it is only Rs 200. The fee should be paid online on the website (http://lbscentre.kerala.gov.in/).

The certificates and other documents should be uploaded along with the application. The applicants should print the copy of the application and keep it for future reference. The fee could also be paid in the banks using challan. Visit the website for details.

Those who apply for the service quota should strictly follow the guidelines including paying the application fee at the treasury.

Eligibility
Those who have passed Plus-Two with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as main subjects could apply for these courses. For the pharmacy course, the applicants should have studied Maths instead of Biology. Meanwhile, for the health inspector course, if there aren’t any candidates who have studied Biology, Physics and Chemistry, then applicants who are specialized in other subjects would be considered.

Aspirants need to have scored at least 40% marks in the specific subjects. Meanwhile, it is 35% for SC/ST category.

There is no minimum marks restriction for the pharmacy course.

VHSE candidates too can apply for all the courses except for health inspectors.

All the applicants, except the ones applying for service quota, should have completed 17 years on 31 December, 2021. However, none of them should exceed 35 years. There is no age relaxation for anyone. But, there is no upper-age limit for D Pharm management quota.

A few seats have been reserved for nominees, VHSE students, sanitary inspectors, sports persons and ex-service personnel. The reservation guidelines of the state government will be followed while admission to the professional courses.

The selection and allotment are done through online option submission.

The lists that contain the names of the institutes and the number of seats are available in paragraph one of the prospectus. This year, the details about the seats and the fee structure would be announced before the allotment.
