Kendriya Vidyalaya admission: Last date for applying extended till April 11

New Delhi: The central government has informed the Delhi High Court that the last date for applying for admission to Kendriya Vidyalayas has been extended till April 11.

Petitions had been filed in the Delhi HC against mandating six years as the minimum age for admission to class 1 at Kendriya Vidyalayas from this year. The court also granted 10 days to the Kendriya Vidyalaya officials and the central government to file their affidavits on the petitions.

The matter will be considered again on April 5.  The court also remarked that it was not appropriate to make last-minute changes to admission criteria. The HC had earlier also stated that different criteria cannot be implemented in various schools for admission to the same class.
