Become a teacher, apply for 4-year Integrated B.Ed courses at NCERT institute in Mysuru

Those who wish a dream career in teaching and education can apply for the various programmes at the Regional Institute of Education, Mysuru, an autonomous institution established by the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT).

The online applications could be submitted until 30 June. Website: www.riemysore.ac.in.

The entrance exam would be held on 24 July at 39 centres including Ernakulam in Kerala. Log into http://cee.ncert.gov.in for more details.

Even though the entrance test score is applicable for admission to centres in Ajmer, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal and Shillong, the candidates who hail from the South Indian states are likely to be admitted to the Mysuru centre.

Programmes
1. Integrated BSc–B.Ed: This 4-year course is equivalent to degree courses like BSc (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) or BSc (Chemistry, Botany, Zoology) and B.Ed. There are 44 seats each in Physical Science and Biological Sciences.

2. Integrated BA–B.Ed: The 4-year course is equivalent to BA and B.Ed courses. There are 44 seats up for grabs.

3. Integrated MSc–M.Ed: The course lasts for 6 years. The candidate would get double degree of MSc in one of Physics, Chemistry and Maths and B.Ed. There are 18 seats each for Maths, Physics and Chemistry.

Those who wish to apply for the above programmes should have passed Plus-Two (in the years 2020, 2021 and 2022) with 50% marks. Meanwhile, candidates from Scheduled Caste/Tribe communities, persons with disabilities and economically weaker sections need 45% marks.

For admission to the first and third programmes, Statistics instead of Maths is allowed.

4) B.Ed: The course is for two years. The applicant should have passed Plus-Two with 50% marks in Maths/Science/Social Science/Humanities/Commerce streams. BTech/BE courses with Science or Maths as the core subjects too will be considered.

However, candidates of Scheduled Caste/Tribe communities and persons with disabilities require 45% marks. There are 25 seats each for Science and Humanities streams.

5) M.Ed: The applicants of this 2-year course need to have 50% marks or equivalent grade in B.Ed, BA B.Ed, BAEd, BSc BE.d, BScEd, BL E.d or DLEd and graduation in Arts/Science streams. Scheduled Caste/Tribe communities, persons with disabilities and economically weaker sections need 45%. There are 35 seats in this programme.
