The Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), which is an autonomous body under the aegis of Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry, offers professional training in packaging, testing and certification. Applications are now invited for various courses at its regional centres.

Interested candidates can submit applications until 2 July.

Here are some of the courses offered by the premier institute:
1. MSc Packaging Technology: This two-year course is offered at the Hyderabad centre. It is recognised by Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University. BTech graduates or those having a 4–year degree in Science subjects can apply.

2. MSc Packaging Technology: This two-year course is recognised by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in Delhi. The applicants should be graduates in BTech or a degree-holder in Engineering/ Technology/ Science with Maths, Physics or Chemistry as the core subject.

3. PG Diploma in Packaging: Another two-year course. It is available in Mumbai and Kolkata. Graduation in Engineering/Technology/ Science in one of Maths, Physics and Chemistry is preferred.

4. Certified Packaging Engineer: This online course provided by the Chennai centre lasts for a year. The applicants need to be B Tech graduates. There is no entrance exam.
