Mukkam (Kozhikode): The 2022-23 academic year that commenced last week was preceded by a special admission drive in which the number of batches at several schools across various classes was increased to accommodate a large number of students seeking admission. Now, the authorities will be holding a one-day online count of the number of vacant seats.

The vacancy determination in schools that were stalled for almost two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic would be held today, on the sixth working day, via the Sampoorna portal. The number of vacancies would be finalised based on the number of students registered on the portal.

The circular of the Director of General Education states that only the details of the students who have Unique Identification (UID) Numbers would be considered for vacancy determination of teachers too. The information that is entered on the portal until 5 pm today would be frozen and synced to the Samanwaya portal that is meant for the posting of teaching and non-teaching staff.

The circular notes that the changes that are later made in the Sampoorna wouldn’t be considered for fixing the vacancies.

It is assumed that the online processing would avoid cases of discrepancies. The details of the students, entered within 5 pm would be scrutinized before sending them to the Assistant Educational Offices (AEOs) and District Educational Offices (DEOs).

These details have to be sent before 10 June. The authorities would scrutinize the lists again before handing them over to the deputy director.
