IIT, Palakkad, to offer master’s dual degree programme for BTech students

Palakkad: The Indian Institute of Technology in Palakkad offers a unique opportunity to pursue a dual degree programme. Students can earn a BTech degree as well as an MTech degree in just five years.

BTech students interested in pursuing this course can move to the MTech stream in the third year of BTech.

Selected candidates from among those who score high marks in BTech fourth semester would be admitted for the second BTech programme.

'This unique course will help the candidates grow by understanding the changes in the profession," IIT Director Professor PB Sunil Kumar said.

The advantage of this scheme is that the students can earn credits through research projects instead of classroom sessions of the elective papers.
