Thiruvananthapuram/Kochi: The admission process to higher secondary Plus-One (Class X1) courses in Kerala is likely to get delayed as the High Court has extended the last date for application to 21 July.

Earlier, it was decided to conduct the allotments from 27 July to 11 August and to begin the classes by 17 next month.

Around 4.25 lakh students have already submitted their applications. The Department of General Education estimates that 30,000 more applications would be received when the results of Class Ten Central Board of Secondary Education exam are published.

Meanwhile, the students who reside in the high ranges and tea estates are facing difficulties to do the online registrations as the mobile networks are pretty scant due to the heavy rains.

The High Court would now consider the plea on 21 July. Meanwhile, the CBSE has sought more time to let the court know about the date of publication of results.
