Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Public Service Commission has approved the rank lists for appointment to the post of Lower Division Clerks (LDCs) in all the districts in the state. The lists include the post of LDC (direct and transfer) in various departments in the 14 districts. These would be uploaded on PSC’s website in a few days.

The lists are likely to be finalised by Friday.

As reported earlier the government departments are struggling to fill the vacancies as the publication of various rank lists of the exams conducted by the state recruiter are delayed. Currently, a valid rank list does not exist for appointment to significant posts like LDC, Last-Grade Servant and Secretariat Assistant.

The situation in the uniformed forces is no different. It’s been years since the rank lists for posts like sub-inspector, civil police officer, fireman, civil excise officer and woman civil excise officer have expired or got cancelled.

1,000-plus LDC, LGA vacancies
There are reportedly more than ten thousand unfilled posts in various departments. Around one thousand vacant positions are available in LDC and Last Grade posts alone. Even though the exact number of vacancies in the post of civil police officer is not known, there are reportedly more than one thousand vacancies in seven battalions. About 121 vacancies for sub-inspector, 30 posts for armed police sub-inspector, 16 special branch assistants and 20 vacancies for administrative tribunal assistants have been reported, until now, to the PSC. Besides, there are hundreds of vacancies in other posts for which the rank lists have been delayed.
