Kochi: The Kerala High Court has ordered to keep the online portal open for ten more days so that the applicants to medical courses can revise their options by including the NRI quota seats.

The order is aimed at allowing the applicants to make the changes for ten days starting Friday, August 5.

Justice Devan Ramachandran has issued the order based on a few pleas filed by a group of students including Thiruvananthapuram native S Fathima who have applied for this year’s MBBS admission.

The plaintiffs, in their suits, have alleged that even though the applicants were allowed to add any number of courses, they were denied the chance to submit options for the NRI seats.

New NRI certificates
Thiruvananthapuram: Those who have applied for various medical courses via the website of Commissioner of Entrance Examinations in Kerala can submit new NRI certificates to be considered for the NRI seats at private medical and dental colleges.

The applicants who couldn’t submit the NRI certificate along with online application can now submit the certificate until 3 pm on 15 August.

The detailed information has been given under the NRI heading in the notification published on the website of the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations. (Phone: 0471-2525300.)
