Applications for Kerala medical PG are open till August 20

You can apply online for various post-graduate degree/diploma courses at government/private self-financing medical colleges as well as Thiruvanthapuram Regional Cancer centre through their website It’s open till 10 am up until the 20th of this month. You should remit an application fee of Rs 1000 online. The backward/scheduled caste community need to remit Rs 500. Those in the service quota who are applying for the general seats need to pay an extra 1000 bucks.

From the rank list of NEET-PG 2022 conducted by the National Board of Examination, a list of candidates eligible for admission in Kerala has been prepared. Based on that list, the selection is to the 435 seats in Kerala's state quota. This include 427 seats from Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Alapuzha, Ernakulam, Trissur, Mancheri, Kozhikode and Kannur private medical colleges and Thiruvananthapuram Regional Cancer Centre’s 8 seats. The seat division according to the subject matter is available in the respective institute’s prospectus.

According to the same rank list, the Entrance Exam commissioner will allot seats for students in Private medical colleges and the minorities and NRI’s who are studying outside Kerala. The course duration is for 3 years. But those who finished their PG diploma before 2022 April 30 can finish their course in 2 years in the same subject.

Indians who have roots in Kerala are eligible for entrance. They should have finished their MBBS internship by 2022 May 31st. NEET 2022 demands that there should be a cut-off score according to the category. (General/economically backward 50th percentile, disabled 45th percentile and rest of the reservation category would be 40th percentile).

Admissions will be given only after medical council registration. There is no age limit for those in the general quota. But those in the service quota have an age limit and other special conditions.

While 10% is kept for service quota, the rest of the seats will be allotted reservation according to the following—scheduled caste 8%, scheduled tribe 2%, Eezhava 8%, Muslim 7%, other backward Hindu castes 7%, Latin Catholics/ Anglo Indians 3%, other backward Christians 1%, Kudumbi 1% and economically backward 10%. Each category will have 5% reservation for people with disabilities. One seat is kept away for the army and families of war martyrs.

The annual fee in government colleges is around Rs 66,000. Those who are discontinuing studies need to pay Rs 50 lakh as compensation.
